Easy ways to check and perform maintenance on instantaneous water heaters
- Unit must be installed vertically only.
- When rotating the unit to connect the water connector at the bottom, the water inlet pipe should be on the right side of the unit.
- Release some water before connecting to the inlet to keep the inlet pipe filter clean.
- After installation the before switching on the electricity, open water valves to let water flow in until the pipe network and unit are free of air.
- The breaker must be the proper size e.g. for 6000-, 8000- or 12000-watt units, the breaker must be 30, 40 or 60 amps respectively.
- Switch on the electricity, open the cover and check the electricity at the terminal block. If no electricity, please check whether the breaker is on or off.
- If the breaker is on but unit still does not work, a reset may be needed. To do a reset, the breaker must be off, then open the cover and press the reset button at the thermostat. (Please check with the manual to locate the thermostat button.)
- Cleaning the inlet filter often by first disconnecting from the cold water valve, then remove and clean the filter.
- A clean shower head filter will prevent low water volume.
- Low or variable water pressure can cause problems with hot and cold water coming out simultaneously, or the unit failes to work. In this case, the water pressure should be adjusted.
- Turning the water valve on to maximum can cause low water temperatures, due to rapid water flow in and out of the unit.
- For safety, please check and adjust the water temperature before use.
